As the full moon of the seventh lunar month arrives, the story of Maudgalyayana’s profound filial piety-rescuing his mother from the realm of hungry ghosts—once again resonates deeply in the hearts of Buddhist disciples. Indeed, the Ullambana season is a sacred time for hearts that cherish gratitude and the repayment of kindness to be nurtured and revitalized.

In this spiritual and solemn atmosphere, Hoang Phap Pagoda will hold the 2026 Ullambana Great Ceremony at 9:00 AM on August 27th, 2026 (the full moon day of the seventh lunar month, Year of the Horse.

This is a precious occasion for devotees and Buddhists to gather at the temple, honoring and expressing their deepest gratitude for the profound benevolence of ancestors, grandparents, and parents. By participating, we are encouraged to live in accordance with the World-Honored One’s teachings on the sacred virtue of filial piety: "A filial heart is the Buddha-heart; filial conduct is the Buddha-conduct."
