One-Day Practice in Can Tho

On July 28th, 2019 (June 26th, LC) Ven. Thich Tam Hue and the monks came to Minh Chat temple, Can Tho province for guiding the fifth One-Day Practice. Minh Chat is just a small Buddhist group so people mostly don’t know how to perform the Buddhist poses, and the monks were there to guide them worshiping, bowing down, chanting, offering, walking meditation.

Ven. Thich Tam Chieu had a talk named Karma Comprehension. Some suttas from Majjhima Nikaya he pointed out what is karma and how many types of karma according to Buddhist doctrine. We are here to be happy, therefore people have to develop good things for making good karma and reduce doing bad things for being free from the bad karma which can bring happiness or suffering in this life and next life.

In the afternoon, there is walking meditation and sitting for 15 minutes. Before the finish, they recite the five precepts for well keeping.

Can Tho is nearby Mekong river so people do animal-release in Van Phat Ferry, then they come back to Hoang Phap temple.
