Pilgrimage at the beginning of Year of the Tiger

On Feb. 1st, 2022 (Jan. 1st of Lunar New Year), Junior Thich Tam Hue, Head of Charity Department of Hoang Phap Pagoda, Hoc Mon, HCMC led a group of pilgrimage to ten pagodas including monks and 130 Buddhists. They visited the temples and pagodas in Hoc Mon, HCMC and Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai.

Pilgrimage to pagodas is a traditional beauty of Buddha's disciples at the beginning of new year. When Spring comes, most temples and charity teams in the city organize pilgrimages to the monasteries. This is an opportunity for Buddhists or those who love Buddhism to have the chance toward Three Jewels to sow good deeds, hope in a new year with many achievements of morality and spirituality.

This activity is the Buddhist affairs of Hoang Phap Pagoda. The delegation paid homage to the pagodas and monasteries that changed their route every year. Accordingly, the aim of building a spiritual life is towards goodness for Buddhists as well as creating blessings at the beginning of new year in making offerings to the Three Jewels.

The first place is Hoang Phap Pagoda in Hoc Mon, managed by Most abbot Thich Chan Tinh. The delegation made offerings and wished the Most Abbot a long life. Next, the Master gave the early spring dharma words. He praised the spirit of payment and gratitude of all Buddhists. By the way, he also encourages them. In the new year, we should renew ourselves, clean our bodies and minds, practice diligently, correct three pure karma, try to do many good deeds to have a peaceful and happy life, as well as cherish moments with our loved ones. 

Next, the group moves to: 

1. Hue Vien Pagoda (Director Board), Thong Nhat, Dong Nai managed by Senior Abbot Thich Phap Dang.

2. Nhat Phap Pagoda, Thong Nhat-Dong Nai managed by Junior Thich Tam Trong.

3. An Lac Pagoda (Director Board), Cam My, Dong Nai, managed by Junior Abbot Thich Quang Ly.

4. Bao Quang Pagoda, Cam My, Dong Nai managed by Junior Abbot Thich Tam Luan.

First, the delegation made offerings to the Buddha, had a speech to offer on the Three Jewels, and then visited the places to sightsee. This is a spiritual activity at the beginning of new year for people to come to many beautiful meditation scenes, purify their body and mind, and increase their faith in the Three Jewels.

The pilgrimage ended successfully in the joy of the mass.
