The Charity trip in Dien Bien

Volunteer work is no stranger to Vietnamese people, showing good morals from the past thousand years of our ancestor "loving people as yourself," "good leaves protects torn leaves".

With the desire to join hands to love, together to share difficulties with the miserable life in society, recently, on Dec. 07th to 09th, 2018 Venerable Thich Tam Kinh - Abbot of Tay Khanh pagoda in Thai Binh, monks and Buddhists spent a trip of charity, giving gifts to the local people with the children at Kindergarten, Primary School in Yen Binh highlands, Sam Mun commune, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province.

 Over passing 500 km long bumpy mountain, the group finally reached the village in Dien Bien district. Currently, the weather is very severe in winter, so the life of the people extremely difficult, the locals is most Thai ethnic, their life is based mainly on rice. In the spirit of compassion of the Buddhism, the group came the primary school, Sam Son preschool school and Linh Van 's  Retreat to give gifts to the people and the children. The total is 300 presents, each of them consisting of 1 barrel of vegetarian noodle, 1 packet of MSG, 1 bottle of cooking oil, soy sauce, shampoo, clothes, accompany with pen, notebook, milk and candy with total amount of 60 million.

On behalf of the group, Venerable Thich Tam Kinh expressed praise for the Bodhisattva 's dedication of Nun Hanh Tinh who volunteers to the Northwest highland to establish the retreat for the Buddhist relying on the cultivating. At the same time, Ven also sent encouragement to the locals who should do good and avoid evil. If having taking refuge on Three Jewels, we have to preserve five precepts, to live a happy life.

Before leaving here, the monks in the delegation gave gift portions to the locals, such as, the books: "unexpectedly Disasters and Blessings","Taking Refuge on the Three Jewels", a radio of reciting the Buddha’s name from Venerable Thich Chan Tinh to the attendees. The Venerable abbot sent deep gratitude to the donators, good men and believing women in Thai Binh, Dien Bien and Nun Hanh Tinh at Linh Van retreat.,  advocated money and pure alms help the charity trip was successful.
