The handover ceremony of saline water purifier and rice ATM machine at Quoc Thoi Pagoda in Ben Tre

Facing outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic and saline intrusion situation, as well as opening letter from Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hung, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, Monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap Pagoda arrived Quoc Thoi Pagoda (Cho Lach, Ben Tre) to offer two saltwater filters (made in the US, LG BW 400 GR2 core), rice ATM machine and full body disinfection machine on April 27th, 2020 (lunar 4th April, Year of Mouse).

In the ceremony, there was presence of Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hung, Abbot of Quoc Thoi Pagoda; Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue and Monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda. The representative of the government was Mr. Le Van Truong, Commune Secretary; Mr. Truong Van Phu, Chairman of the commune; Mr. Le Thanh Phuong, Chairman of Long Thoi Commune Front with donors in the HCM City and people in Long Thoi commune.

Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue expressed his gratitude to Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hung, leaders of local authorities created a favorable condition for the charity group to share with difficult people here. Accordingly, the delegation mobilized Buddhists to support Quoc Thoi Pagoda with two salt water filters, a transformer, a rice ATM machine, a whole-body disinfection chamber.

Next, Mr. Le Van Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee paid a tribute to the charitable delegation of Hoang Phap Pagoda and the donors for caring and helping for the poor people in Long Thoi commune. This is also the first "rice ATM machine" to be present in Cho Lach district, Ben Tre.

This charity trip presented a rice ATM with the amount of 20,000,000 VND, a whole-body disinfection machine of 20,000,000 VND, 1,700 kg of rice, 500 boxes of water containing, 700 shirts, 10 boxes of soy milk, 1,000 masks ... The total money of charity is 482,000,000 VND.

Accordingly, the "rice ATM" at Quoc Thoi Pagoda will distribute rice at 14h - 17h everydays. Each receiver who will get 3kg of rice, 1 shirt, 1 box of milk, 1 necklace with Buddha image, 1 string of beads, 1 mask. The organizers asked everyone to wear a mask, queue up at a distance of 2 meters, and enter the sterilization room of whole body before receiving rice at free ATM machine.
