A Ceremony Commemorating to Celebrate Achievement of the Sakyamuni Buddha at Tiêu Dao pagoda - Quảng Ninh

Amidst all the changes in life, the precious teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha remain forever in the hearts of those seeking truth and striving for nobility in their spiritual living.

Sharing in the joy of all Buddhist followers worldwide, Tieu Dao Pagoda - Quang Ninh (belonging to the Hoang Phap pagoda sect) solemnly organized a great ceremony commemorating "The Enlightenment Day of Shakyamuni Buddha" on Jan. 26th, 2026 (the 7th day of the lunar Dec. of the Snake Year).

The solemn ceremony was witnessed under the auspices of Junior Thich Tam Tinh – Member of the Director Board of VBS of Quang Ninh province, Abbot of Tieu Dao Pagoda, and head of the organizer along with the presence of Abbots from pagodas in and outside the city and more than 500 Buddhists everywhere.

First, Junior Thích Tâm Tịnh delivered the opening speech: “With the ultimate goal of seeking liberation from the cycle of suffering for all sentient beings, Prince Siddhartha left the royal palace and royal life to become an ascetic, setting out to find the ideal of liberation…” Following the opening speech, Junior Thích Thanh Giác presented a reading on “The Significance of the Enlightenment Day of Buddha Shakyamuni.”

Next, the participants praised the Buddha’s sacred name, offered flowers to the Buddhas and practiced walking meditation in harmony with the chanting of the Shakyamuni Buddha name.
