Buddhist News of Ven. Thich Chan Tinh
A Day at The Retreat at Bat Nha Pagoda in California - United States
Update: 16/10/2016
On Oct 15, 2016, the Venerable Thich Chan Tinh delivered his teaching during one day at the Retreat at Bat Nha Pagoda in South California, US.
In the morning session, he guided the etiquette for\r\nBuddhist as pressing palm together, bowing, paying homage to Buddha, how to sit\r\n... Besides the guide, the Venerable had a Dharma talk sharing that being\r\nBuddhist means following Buddha’s Path, his example and activities, practicing\r\nand turning the Dharma wheel. Besides, lay people still have many binding\r\nrelationships and duties to carry out in secular lives which are also the\r\nduties for them to fulfill as Buddhists.\r\nAccording to Buddha’s teaching, lay people need to accomplish duties as self -\r\nimproving, carrying out duties to family,\r\nrelatives, community and Dharma. Thus, besides serving Triratna, and\r\npracticing, (s)he is responsible for his/her\r\nfamily and society. Lay Buddhists should not wholeheartedly concern themselves\r\nwith religious activities while neglecting the secular responsibilities, isolate\r\nthemselves from others, and misunderstand about their roles in life. All of\r\nthose advices are for the sake of happiness for everyone as quoted in the slogan\r\n“good for both secular life and Pathâ€.
