Activities in Sri Lanka the 3rd Day

In the morning of May 3rd, 2018 (18th March, Lunar Calendar), everyone left Kandy city to visit Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. This is the most interesting place to visit: the first location of Buddhist missionary, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka and the oldest Bodhi Tree in the world.

All people arrived Anuradhapura at 12 am. Having lunch and rest until 5 pm, everyone come to Sri Maha Bodhi, Anuradhapura. This is the branch of the main Bodhi tree in Bodhgaya in India and was brought to Sri Lanka about 288 BC by king Asoka's daughter. Nowadays, it becomes the national treasure. After lighting candles and offering the flower to the Buddha, all approved to the holy tree. Everyone felt the marvellousness and sacredness even though it's raining.

In the next morning, May 4th, 2018, people came to the mountain peak for visiting the precious stupa, where Ven. Mahinda first time came to convert Anuradhapura's king. From there, Buddhism was popular with people and temples, stupas were built up a lot. Today, everyone when visits Sri Lanka wants to take circumambulation, meditation, and worship the Buddha. For any holy place we visit, the hidden energy always there for the peace of mind.
