Charity Board: Supporting cancer patients to attend One-Day Practice

On March 02nd, 2025 (Feb. 03rd, LC) Charity Board and Oncology Club at Hoang Phap pagoda assisted 85 patients of Cancer Hospital and Blind people gathering at the pagoda to attend One-Day Practice.

After having breakfast, Buddhists came to the lecture hall of area C to begin reciting the Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting Buddhists’ basic precepts.  Next, all patients listened to a Dharma talk named “According to circumstances to have a life without worries”, preached by Junior Thich Tam Duc Deputy of propagation Department of HCMC Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha.

 

  Finishing reciting the Buddha name in the afternoon, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly.

 

 Before all attendees leaving the temple, Junior Thich Tam Hue gave gift portions including envelopes and milk to 85 patients and the blind. The amount 15,600,000 given by the Donors, such as: 4,250,000 VND of Lien Nghia group; 4,500,000 VND of a Buddhist; 3,000,000 VND of another Buddhist; 3,000,000 VND of Tuyet Ngoc rice and a female 850,000. 

 

    The monk praised the patients' difficult overcoming spirit, although the body was sick but the mind was not. He advised them to take refuge in Three Jewels, diligently recite Buddha's name, study and practice Buddha's teachings, then will have a peaceful and happy life.

 

 The day of cultivation ended in the joy of participants.
