Day 2 of Summer Retreat at Dong Cao Pagoda (Thanh Hoa)
Update: 20/06/2026
On June 16th, 2026, the second day of the retreat began with a reading of the "Lesson of Gratitude" and a quiet contemplation of the early morning rain.
Next, the monks guided the children in exercise and walking meditation to watch the sunrise.
After breakfast and free time, monks Tam Thu, Tam Ba, and Dao Tin taught little participants about Buddhist demeanor such as bowing, prostration, etc.
Later, Junior Thich Tam Trieu, Abbot of Co Tan Pagoda (Hai Phong City), returned to the retreat and preached a Dharma talk on the topic "Connecting Friends, Uniting, Sharing" in the afternoon. The dharma talk was very engaging and fun, filled with witty riddles, helping the learners easily remember the teachings about sharing and unity.
In the evening, after chanting the Ullambana Sutra and reciting the Buddha name, the children sat in meditation and listened to a program of Buddhist teachings.
The Summer Retreat’s second day closed in peace and tranquility under the temple roof.
