Dharma Talk at Bang Pagoda - Ha Noi

On Jan 04,2017 (Dec 07, lunar calendar) Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh visited Bang pagoda at Hoang Liet Ward, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi City for the floral candle light ceremony on the Shakyamuni Buddha Attainment Day as well as the delivery of Dharma talk to the ashram based on the invitation from abbot Most Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem

On this occasion, the Venerable shared the meaning of Buddha Shakyamuni’s attainment. This is an important Buddhism event in the world.

First, he explained the meaning of the floral candle light ceremony with divine light sharing ritual that means taking and sharing wisdom light from Buddha to human beings during the Path to the Enlightenment. Buddhism teaches us the wisdom, hence we, Buddhists, should learn Dharma, frequently upgrade our Buddhism knowledge, contemplate and practice Buddha's teachings to benefit ourselves in present and future. From this point of view, the Venerable had a brief review on Buddha’s life to remind Buddhist devotees precious lessons on Cause and Effect Rule and how meaningful the practice is to practitioners.

Buddha’s attainment is the result of enduring and diligent practice of six perfections, ten perfections for Bodhisatva to benefit sentient beings in immeasurable consecutive kalpas. In the last return to this world, Buddha was born as a perfect human being. He is awakened, renounces the household life for the attainment and then shows human beings the Path to liberation.

As Buddhists, we should follow Buddha’s way to promote our practice. Especially, we should fulfill our mission as Buddha’s disciple, get the enlightenment and help others become established in Buddha Dharma so that everyone can have the true happiness and freedom as per Buddha’s teachings.
