On Sep 30, 2017, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh delivered Dharma talk to the ashram at Giac Lam Pagoda, Ave South Waith Park, St. Cloud, Minnesota.
With the guidance from Buddhists, the delegation visited flower garden that had been built by a local couple who then donated it to the government as a gift for visitors coming to the region.
In the afternoon, the Senior Venerable had a Dharma talk regarding Buddhism mindfulness. According to him, Giac Lam means the forest of mindfulness. Giac Lam Pagoda means the pagoda of mindfulness with each member of the ashram the awakened one. To practice mindfulness, Buddhists should be aware that this world is impermanent, this body is temporary, there is no self, and things are compounded conditions. Being aware of the true nature of things, we should always be awakened in every speech, activity and thought. Awakening is the vital factor for one sowing good deeds, the key leading to a meaningful, happy life in present and future.
