Update: 10/05/2026
On the 2nd day in the 108th Retreat of May 05th, 2026, Nun Thich Nu Nhu Lan, Member of the Central Propagation Board, Deputy of the Buddhist Propagation Board of Dong Thap Province, Deputy of the Nun's Branch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Dong Thap Province, Abbot of Hung Thien pagoda, Dong Thap preached a Dharma talk named “Practice in all circumstances” in the Wheel Dharma Building 's Main Hall.
The Nun taught "there is no greater happiness than hearing and learning the Dharma with pure faith in practicing according to the Buddha's teachings." She emphasized that meeting the Buddha teachings in this world is a great blessing, a great merit, and a great condition. Because of passing twenty-six centuries away from His Nirvana, we still know about Him, listen to His teachings, and cultivate a noble mind to believe, accept, and practice His teachings.
The Nun quoted the teachings of Great Master Hsing-She’s (the tenth patriarch of the Pure Land school) on four methods to help Buddhists diligently practice, those are: knowing how to utilize limited time to practice, whether busy or idle; living contentedly, whether rich or poor; living according to circumstances so as not to become attached to favorable or unfavorable situations; last, maintaining unwavering faith and vows whether in suffering or joy, because the true joy of a Buddhist practitioner is listening to the Dharma, living in mindfulness with their own pure mind.
The Monks and the mass held a meeting in the dharma halls to disseminate the schedule, regulations, and other programs of the retreat in the afternoon of the same day.
