Examining Patients, Offering Medicine and Releasing Creatures in Soc Trang

By instruction of Senior Abbot Thich Chan Tinh, in the morning of Nov. 2nd, 2014 (lunar Intercalary Sep. 19th, Horse Year), monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap pagoda joined with doctors from HCM and Can Tho city who specialize to faculties of interior, eyes, obstetrics and gynecology, ultrasound, electrocardiogram arrived in Ngoc Dung commune, My Xuan district, Soc Trang province to examine diseases, offer medicine, give gift to poor patients.

Particularly, in this charity trip, the group was\r\nsupported by the Senior, monks of Phuoc Lam pagoda, local Buddhists as well. In\r\nthe morning, the group presented at People’s Committee of Ngoc Dong commune to\r\ntreat patients and offer medicines to 500 poor families of Ngoc Dong and Ngoc\r\nTo communes Each of them was cared for the health and given 1 portion of gift\r\nwhich cost 200.000 dong including as rice, noodle soup and medicine and a few\r\nblankets. The doctors of ophthalmology gave them over 120 pairs of glasses\r\nto the old, far sighted, which has the value of 3 million dong. Besides, the\r\ngroup tested the health, offered medicine to 50 extra patients. The total of\r\ncharity was 103,500,000 dong (38,500,000 dong medicine and 65,000,000 dong for\r\ngift.)

In the afternoon, they came to Phu Gia River, Phu Xuyen\r\ndistrict to release 1040 kgs of fishes to the nature. The summary of charity\r\nand releass was 136,430,000 dong, being collected by Buddhists everywhere.
