Offering incense to commemorate Patriarch Minh Dang Quang

In the afternoon of March 19th, 2015 (January 29th, Goat Year), on the 61th anniversary of Patriarche Minh Dang Quang’s death, Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh and the monks of Hoang Phap pagoda came to offer things and kowtowed to him at Minh Dang Quang Halls, district 2, HCM city.
It is known that Patriarch Minh Dang Quang created Mendicant\r\nBuddhist sect in Vietnam after 10 years of studying and practicing Buddha’s\r\nteaching. With the Patriarch’s guidance, Buddhism associations of Mendicant\r\nwere established from The Mekong Delta to Central Parts. Many pagodas of this\r\nsect have been built and received hundreds of monks and nuns and ten thousand\r\nBuddhists. Then, on February 1st, Horse Year (1954), on the way to do Buddhist\r\naffair from Vinh Long to Can Tho province, he died and there is without him\r\nuntil now. Since that time, Mendicant Monks chose this date to commemorate and\r\nexpress gratitude to his foundation.
At the Halls, the Senior Ven. and monks offered incense and\r\nkowtowed to the Patriarch with boundless honor of posterity. On\r\nbehalf of organization board, Most Ven. Thich Minh Tuan – Vice Abbot of\r\nMinh Dang Quang Halls had some words of gratitude to the delegation.
After offering things and kowtowing to the Patriarch , at\r\nthe guest house Ven. Master Thich Giac Toan – Abbot of Minh Dang Quang Halls,\r\non behalf of Mendicant Monks, greeted the Senior Ven. and the monks in an\r\ninformal manner. On this occasion, Hoang Phap pagoda offered 370 Dharma gifts\r\nincluding a book “Meaningful Wordsâ€, 1 book “ Still happyâ€, 1 DVD “Performance\r\nof universal salvation†to the monks and nuns who would attend the official\r\nceremony on February 1st Lunar Year.
