One-Day Buddha Recitation Retreat at Dong Cao Pagoda - Thanh Hoa
Update: 15/05/2026
Buddhists from all over gathered at Dong Cao pagoda (belonging to the Hoang Phap sect) in Thanh Hoa to participate in a One-day retreat on Sunday, May 10th, 2026.
The Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Hung, led the attendees in walking meditation and watching the sunrise, followed by a ritual of six-sense repentance, and the chanting of Three Refuges and Five Precepts. By creating conditions for devout men and women to actively participate in the release of creatures, the Abbot helped participants cultivate compassion and love within themselves. In his Dharma talk titled “Six-Harmony Life” to all devotees, Abbot Thich Tam Hung emphasized the importance of the Six Harmonies in life to help lay Buddhists stand firm on their path of practice, have a harmonious and peaceful life right here in this earthly Pure Land.
The Abbot guided the participants in a quiet meditation session at 1:30 p.m to experience the wonder and peace of the present moment. Then, the mass recited the Sigalovada sutta and continued with walking meditation.
To encourage and spread the spirit of the Buddha's Birthday Celebration (Buddhist Calendar 2570 – Solar Calendar 2026), the Organizers presented each Buddhists with a Buddhist flag. The One-Day Buddha Recitation Retreat concluded in the joy and happiness of the mass.
