One-Day Practice

Update: 19/04/2026
Organizing as usual One-day Practice on April 19th, 2026, Hoang Phap Pagoda recorded the crowded participation of Buddhists everywhere.

One-Day Practice

At 08: 00am, all Buddhists came to the lecture halls to begin reciting the Buddha name, walking meditation and chanting precepts. A member standing on the propagation Board of HCMC Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha, Junior Thich Tam Duc came to the lecture hall to share a dharma lesson named “The journeys in life.”

The Monk preached that each person typically travels on three basic vehicles — a baby carriage, a wedding carriage and a hearse — on their life's journey whether short or long. No one can choose the first or last vehicle while the second one can be chosen but requires wisdom to ensure a happy afterward... choosing which vehicle means having a ticket to the cycle of birth and death, so we must recognize the great matter of life and death. However, death is not fear of pain according to Buddhism, but the anxiety of what provisions we will carry with us in the next rebirth. Therefore, cultivating wisdom, steadfastly upholding Bodhicitta, and unwavering faith in the Three Jewels are the essential means that help Buddhists confidently travel in the reincarnation journeys.

All participants continued their time of chanting Buddha's name, walking meditation and sitting meditation to restrain body - mind amidst the hustle and bustle of life. The One -Day Retreat concluded successfully in the participants' joy and happiness. Before leaving the temple, Buddhists received book gifts.
