One-Day Retreat for Students (May 24th, 2026, part 2)
Update: 25/05/2026
The "Understanding the Buddha to Love" eloquence competition attracted a large number of student participants in the afternoon. In the joyful atmosphere of Buddha's Birthday season, the competition provided a platform for the young to share their perspectives and offered them an opportunity to revisit and learn about Buddhist teachings.
Faced with the inevitable demands of the digital age and the powerful spread of social media, the eloquence competition created a healthy environment for young attendees to share their personal views while also providing participants with an opportunity to see the practical value of Buddhist teachings in addressing the challenges of our time. Contestants were gradually guided to return inward and recognize the value of gratitude, true happiness, and mindfulness in this turbulent era.
Six topics were discussed in the "Understanding the Buddha to Love" public speaking competition as following:
(1) Is Buddhism necessary for modern youth? Why?
(2) Happiness from a Buddhist perspective and for today's youth.
(3) What can the youth learn and how can they apply it from the life of the Buddha?
