In the Ullambana season pilgrimage, monks and over 700 Buddhists from Hoang Phap Pagoda make offerings to four rainy retreat Schools: Hoang Phap Pagoda (HCMC), Vietnam Buddhist University (HCMC, campus 2), Truc Lam Chanh Giac Monastery (Tien Giang), and Hung Thien Pagoda (Dong Thap) on Aug. 2nd, 2026.

The attendees gathered at the Dharma-Wheel Building at 5:00 AM to invite the monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda to perform the offering ritual for the rainy retreat. Abbot Thich Tam Truong of Hoang Phap Pagoda gave a Dharma talk, encouraging practitioners to strive daily to cultivate morality, concentration, and wisdom in a serene and joyful atmosphere.

At the Vietnam Buddhist University (Campus 2), representatives of the monks and lay Buddhists of Hoang Phap Pagoda, Abbot Thich Tam Truong, offered their donations. In response, Senior Thich Phuoc Luong, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist University in HCMC, praised and acknowledged the Three Jewel support of the Hoang Phap Pagoda monks and lay Buddhists in the rain-retreat.

At 10:30 AM, Junior Thich Tam Vuong, representing the monks and lay Buddhists, offered his speech for donations. On behalf of Senior Thich Thong Phuong - Abbot of Truc Lam Chanh Giac Monastery, Junior Thich Truc Thong Kim - Head of the Monastery's Executive Board, welcomed the delegation, expressing joy in receiving alms and offering encouragement to the practitioners.

Finally, the delegation arrived at the rainy retreat of Hung Thien Pagoda (Dong Thap province) with over 300 nuns residing in the retreat. Under the nuns’ guidance, the lay Buddhists wholeheartedly recited the Amitabha Buddha name. Following the speech from the Buddhist representatives, the Abbess of the temple expressed her gratitude and praised the delegation's spirit of supporting the Three Jewels, which helped in the monastic life of the nuns at Hung Thien Temple's rainy retreat.
