On the morning of Feb. 1st, 2023, Most Thich Chan Tinh had a Dharma lecture at Son Phap pagoda in Moc Chau district, Son La province.
The Most Ven was very pleased to see the diligent practice of studying, following the Patriarchs' examples in the proclamation of beneficial teachings of the Abbot, and Buddhists here after nearly 10 years of returning to the ashram.
In the Dhammapada, the Buddha taught:
Every evil never doing
and in wholesomeness increasing
and one's heart well-purifying:
this is the Buddhas' Teaching.
During the Dharma talk, the Most Ven taught that:
*. Do not do evil deeds:
Body: no killing, no stealing, no sexual misconduct.
- Speech: do not lie, do not speak fabrication, do not speak harshly, do not speak frivolous words.
- Thought: no greed, no anger and no delusion.
*. Diligence in doing good things: giving, keeping precepts, patience, diligence, meditation, wisdom.
*. Keep the mind pure: every day we control the mind so that the mind is gradually free of greed, hatred, and delusion; because when we have words and actions that come from a pure mind, it leads to good karma.
Regularly going to the temple, being close to monks and nuns to study the Dharma, Buddhists will have the right perception, because we are not saints, surely no one can avoid mistakes. Therefore, Buddhist disciples must know how to listen to the suggestions of others, even if they are of a lower status than themselves. There are four things that we should not underestimate: the little monk, the little prince, the little snake, and the little spark. If the commenter is right, we should absorb and modify it to make progress, our three karmas will be clean and pure on a daily basis.
