Prostrating five hundred names - Commemorating the Birthday of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvar

On occasion of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara Birthday of April 02nd – 06th, 2026 (Feb. 15th - 19th, LC) Hoằng Pháp Pagoda officially organized the prostration of Her five-hundred Titles.

 

The monks and Buddhists chanted sutra and recited Buddha's name at 5:45 p.m; then, the mass wholeheartedly prostrated five hundred Names which are the various manifestations of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.

 

This prostrating brings inner peace to practitioners amidst the hustle and bustle of life. As a result, each person can return to their pure and tranquil nature, illuminating compassion and tolerance, thereby dispelling attachments to external things. Before performing the ritual, Buddhists need to have a correct understanding of the meaning of five-hundred name rite in order to generate pure faith in the Three Jewels, as well as increase compassion, altruism for ourselves and others by learning the example of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. 

 

At 17: 45 p.m of Sep. 15th - 19th, lunar calendar, the mass will worship Her 100 names every day. Respectfully invite all good men, believing women and Buddhists to attend together at the pagoda.
