Repentance Ceremony (July 14th, Year of the Horse) | Hoang Phap Pagoda.

The repentance ceremony at Hoang Phap Pagoda, held in the warm atmosphere of the Ullambana Season of Filial Piety, was attended by a large number of devout Buddhists. At 18:00 on Aug. 26th, 2026, Senior Thích Viên Trí—Member of the Executive Committee, Head of the Board cum Chief Secretary of the VBS Central Buddhist Education Board, and Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in HCMC—delivered a Dharma talk on the theme of the Ullambana season.

Emphasizing the spirit of filial piety—specifically among Buddhist followers and broadly among all children—as a sentiment of gratitude and repayment, the Ullambana ceremony transcends religious boundaries. It becomes a "festival of the heart," offering everyone an opportunity to cherish the blessings they possess.

The Venerable reminded the attendees of the Four Graces taught by the World-Honored One: the debt to one's parents (the very source of our existence), the debt to teachers and spiritual masters, the debt to one's homeland, and the debt to all sentient beings. The Dharma talk reminded practitioners to constantly reflect upon the profound grace of their parents and strive to live a virtuous life, thereby repaying the Four Debts of Gratitude during this sacred Ullambana season.

The repentance ceremony closed in the participants’ joy.
