Repentance Ceremony (Sep. 14th, Year of the Horse) | Hoang Phap Pagoda.

Numerous Buddhists gathered at Hoang Phap Pagoda for a Repentance Ceremony at 18:00 on Oct. 23rd, 2026. Before the ritual, Senior Ven. Thich Quảng Thiện, a lecturer at HCMC College–Intermediate Buddhist Schools, delivered a Dharma talk to all participants.

As participants spent nearly an hour absorbed in the stream of Dharma, the question-"Why do I practice, yet see no results?" - arose like a bell, prompting a moment of deep reflection on everyone's spiritual path. The lecturer explained that the reason we remain burdened by afflictions despite our practice is our failure to truly grasp the impermanent nature of life, leading us to cling persistently to material values. He further pointed out that in the absence of aging, illness, and death, our cravings would only flourish, fueling tendencies toward rivalry, judgment, and envy. As a result, he encouraged the participants to recognize the reality of impermanence and cultivate the spirit of letting go - using these as essential provisions to overcome the adversities of life.

The repentance ceremony concluded in an atmosphere of joy among all participants.
