Repentant Ceremony Feb. 2018
Update: 31/03/2018
Tối ngày 30/03/2018 (nhằm 14/02 Mậu Tuất), quý thiện nam tín nữ trong và ngoài TP.HCM đã trở về chùa Hoằng Pháp tham dự khóa lễ sám hối định kỳ hằng tháng.
Happiness is not a destination to reach, it really presents right beside us but we always in seeking. Being asked about the concept of happiness, different answers will be given. It is a healthy body for the sick people, a cozy family for the orphans, a normal eyes for the blind person… sometimes it’s nothing simple than a peace of mind.
But in general, we all take the material things to measure happiness. In confusing we believe that the satisfaction of our physical needs and fame, it’s happiness. For Buddhism, the true happiness only comes when our defilements ended, wisdom advanced, fully free from attachment and gain the liberation.
To reach the true happiness as we need to comprehend the Four Noble Truths (the truth of suffering, the truth of suffering’s causes, the truth of suffering’s cessation and the truth of the path leads to the suffering’s cessation). Till we realize all the suffering’s aspects, we’re able to enter the gate of happiness.
When we satisfy our physical needs and fame we are happy, in fact, happiness couldn’t build from any impermanent things as the visible substances. No one can ensure their happiness when everything is changing and ruining over time. Just some are in happy longer than others because of good merit they had done more in the past. Everything will be finished someday if we have no intention to make more.
We all can’t choose a place of birth but can make our road for happiness by removing what causes suffering in daily life as envy, rivalry, selfishness, covetousness and other attachments. Try to be a virtuous one, a good one we will have happiness in present, not hard to find.
Life covers full of the inner marvellousness for us to reveal, just going back and being present we can see and feel how great are they. Be conscious of what we do and how others feel to enlarge our compassion. Make yourself more peace of mind by taking the Four Immeasurable Minds to your daily practice:
·Loving-kindness or boundless kindness: widen out your heart to everyone, truly bring happiness to all living beings.
·Compassion or boundless pity: with all your love and wish to save all living beings from suffering.
·Sympathetic joy or boundless joy: truly rejoice in other success or happiness.
·Equanimity or limitless indifference: giving up all things to have an indifferent mind to all beings, no distinction friends and enemy, hate and love
People go to the temple for worship and pray for a peaceful life it’s nothing wrong, just a means. But as a Buddhist, we need to learn more than pray by applying the Buddha’s teaching into life for current and later happiness. And besides, we should be skillful in taking our practice. When we try to correct ourselves from wrong to right we have troubles than normal, let them be your experiences to learn and win your mind for everlasting happiness.
Finished the Dharma Talk, a repentant ceremony official starting as usual.
