Repentant Ceremony on Aug. 14th, Year of Mouse

On Sep. 30th, 2020 (lunar Aug. 14th, Year of Mouse), the good men and believing women in and out of Ho Chi Minh City returned to Hoang Phap Pagoda to attend the periodic penance ceremony.

Before beginning the rite, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Vuong had a dharma talk to all participants with the topic: Post-Death Diary.

As soon as existing in the middle of this life, we begin a human journey with joy, sadness, hate, smiles and tears. At that time, it is the attitude, perception, and action that will determine the next future of each person and only we can write our diary and save it for the next generation.

By his preaching, Junior Ven. confided to the mass about the inadequacies of a modern life with sufficient material. Due to the busyness of earning money or running after frivolous things, man has forgotten his inner spiritual house, forgetting the human’s moral values. Until when impermanence comes, man cannot bargain anything, we must bear the consequences created from our own body, speech, and mind.

Since then, he has reminded the mass to balance living work with spiritual practice. Let us be aware, control all actions, words, create joy by accepting the present life, using love for others, compassion to transform people's hearts and practice to attain enlightenment.

After that, the mass listened to the song Sand dust in life.

After the talk, the mass entered the penitential ceremony as usual.
