Supporting cancer patients to attend One-Day Practice

On March 26th, 2023 at Hoang Phap pagoda, monks and Oncology Club assisted 53 patients of Cancer Hospital gathering at the pagoda to attend One-Day Practice on occasion of the early year of the Cat.

After having breakfast, Buddhists came to the lecture halls to begin reciting the Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting precepts.

After the rite, Nun Dr Thich Nu Hue Hoa (Lecturer of Vietnam Buddhist University in HCMC) came to the lecture hall, and gave answers to all Buddhists around issues in studying and practicing the Buddha's teachings to have a peaceful and happy life.

After reciting the Buddha name in the afternoon, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly.

Before patients leaving the pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Hue gave gift portions to patients. Each patient received 100,000VND, 2 bottles of shampoo and shower cream.The total amount to 53 patients is 5,300,000 VND supported by Ms. Tuyet Ngoc ‘s Group, Ms Dieu Hoa, My Le, Ms Ut Sanh in Binh Duong.

He praised the patients' difficult overcoming spirit, although the body was sick but the mind was not, and returned to the pagoda to cultivate. He advised them to take refuge in Three Jewels, diligently recite Buddha's name, study and practice Buddha's teachings, and will have a peaceful and happy life.

The money is not much, but all patients felt gratitude for givers, because there are still many people helping to share, love and motivate them overcoming the disease.
