After going through the ups and downs of the showbiz world, the fact that some artists come to Buddhism for seeking a psychological moral support is becoming more and more popular nowadays.

The Artists Who Take Refuge In Buddhism

Phuong Thanh, a famous pop-rock singer with a strange raspy\r\nvoice said that she was at the peak of her career with some hot songs such as: â€œGiã\r\ntừ dÄ© vãng”, (Farewell to the past)”, â€œTrống vắng”, (The void), â€œTình\r\ncờ”… (By Accident) then the rotary of fame, wealth, material had made her\r\npainful and broken-hearted, being filled with the hatred and grudge. At the\r\nutmost pain she found Buddhism as a dying person sees light at the end of the\r\ntunnel. The Buddhism’s doctrine has awaked and led her to be out of life’s\r\nsuffering.

“I penetrate Buddha’s teaching rapidly so I may have deep\r\ncondition with Buddhism. It’s a pity that I had come late but if comparing to\r\npeople who never see Buddha’s words, I’m still in happy. More often, evil-doers\r\nwho renounce their life in the demimonde tend to practice religion diligently.\r\nI used to be said to be fierce in the secular life but I have been totally\r\ndifferent since I approached Buddhism. â€ she said.

Hoai Linh, a famous comedian, is another example. Although\r\nhe had brought a lot of laughter to people but also bear heavy pressure from\r\nright and wrong of the showbiz. He shared “I had got some good impressions from\r\nBuddhism by its profound teachings such as law of cause and effect, karma,\r\nrebirth as well as other living philosophies. I have applied these doctrines to\r\nmy life and still try to learn more. Learning Buddhism helps me keep my life in\r\nbalance.Whenever I achieve happiness, I usually express my gratitude towards\r\nthe Buddhas. On the contrary, whenerver I run into troubles I don’t feel so\r\npainful because I have a lot of friends to share the feelings ”

Another case is that of singer Ho Quynh Huong, in which the\r\ncause that led her to Buddhism sounds a little strange: “I don’t know why one\r\nday when I woke up and I couldn’t taste meat and decided to go vegan until now.\r\nI don’t encourage people to be vegetarians but you should not hesitate if you\r\ncan. And during my process of practice I had realized one thing: however good\r\nor bad all the changes are, they come from our mind. When our mind is in peace,\r\nnothing can change it to the opposite side”.

She has shared more about taking meditation and vegetarian\r\ndiet, which helps her gain peace in life.

“I now have a more optimistic view on life. My friends also\r\nrecognize this by seeing my changing manner for the better. I really reduce\r\nhatred and delusion…” she said.

The last typical example is that of Le Cat Trong Ly, a\r\nsinger and composer, who composed many specific and nice songs containing many\r\nliving philosophies, also has the same opinion: “Besides music Buddha is the\r\nperson I admire. I believe that if there is a real love in the world it would\r\nbe the great compassion of Buddha for sentient beings. I admire Buddha because\r\nof his compassion and wisdom”.

Does material bring us happiness? If yes then why are many\r\nrich people still in suffering and unhappy?

\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Now is the time for us to look into ourselves and wonder who\r\nwe are, where we came from and what the meaning of our lives is.
