The Candle Lighting Ceremony and Gently Striking Big Bell on the Grave Visiting Festival 2026 at Dong Cao Pagoda - Thanh Hoa

The Grave Visiting Festival is an important occasion for descendants to remember their roots and express their respect for their ancestors. The same of above tradition "Filial piety is the Buddha’s mind; filial conduct is the Buddha’s practice", Buddhist teachings praise filial piety and constantly remind practitioners to diligently accumulate merit repaying their parents and all sentient beings.

 

Buddhists everywhere returned to Dong Cao Pagoda in Thanh Hoa (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda’s sect) to participate in the candle-lighting ceremony and inviting to large bell to purify three-karma, and chanting Three Refuges - Five Precepts on April 16th, 2026. Next, Junior Thich Tam Hung came to the Ngo Chan Tu lecture hall to guide all attendees in offering prayers for the spirit, helping these souls to awaken Bodhicitta, deeply believe in the cause and effect, and soon return to the dharma to practice, also reborning the Pure Land.

 

The Grave Visiting Festival at Dong Cao Pagoda (Thanh Hoa) closed successfully to the joy of the participants.
