The Chairman Committee of Vietnam Buddhism of Hoc Mon Suburban District organized 2558th Vesak Ceremony

Mixed in the joyful atmosphere of Buddhists welcoming Vesak, on 12 nd, May, 2014 (14 April of the Horse year, lunar calendar), the Hoc Mon district Chairman Committee solemnly organized the Vesak Ceremony of 2558th Buddhist Calendar or 2014 AD at Hoang Phap Pagoda. Participants included Buddhist dignitaries from local organizations - monasteries, temples, Buddha-praying points, local authority representatives of Hoc Mon suburban of Tan Hiep Village and many Buddhists.
After three rolls of Prajna bell and wooden-bell\r\ninviting the Buddhist dignitaries to start the ceremony, Junior Ven. Thich Chon\r\nTri, master of ceremony, announced the reasons for the ceremony, the agenda and\r\nintroduced the attendants. Next, the whole Bodhi-mandala spent a minute’s\r\nsilence to pay homage to the Buddhist martyrs and the soldiers who have\r\nsacrificed their lives for their homeland, for peace and happiness of the whole\r\nnation.\r\n\r\n
Every year, on behalf of the extreme leadership of the\r\nUnited Buddhist Congregation, the supreme leader always sends all the Buddhists\r\nhis official note welcoming Vesak Day. At this year ceremony, Superior Buddhist\r\nmonk Thich Thien Minh, Head of The Congregation Committee of Vietnam Buddhism\r\nof Hoc Mon Suburban District, read the note. Next, Junior Ven. Thich Minh\r\nThanh, Deputy Head of The congregation Committee of Vietnam Buddhism of Hoc Mon\r\nDistrict, read the address from the Standing Board of The Buddhist Central\r\nCommittee of Vietnam Buddhism. In addition, at the ceremony Mr. Do Trung Chinh,\r\nHead of the National Front, on behalf of the local authorities delivered some\r\nwords on Vesak season.

Next, at the ceremony, representative of the Standing\r\nCommittee of Hoc Mon District offered the merit commendation certificate to\r\nHoang Phap Pagoda for its having solemnly decorated the today rostrum.

At the end of the ceremony, the Superior Monk, the\r\nwitnessing Senior Venerable, the Buddhist dignitaries and all the participants\r\ntogether performed the rites of Vesak. Moreover, they set free balloons up to\r\nthe sky wishing peace for the nation.
