Update: 02/08/2022
On July 31st, 2022 (July 3rd, LC), monks from Hoang Phap Pagoda came to Tam Phap Pagoda (Binh Phuoc Province) to attend the Great Ullambana Ceremony.
Parents are born us with their strenuous efforts
Patriarchs nurture us to raise the spiritual life
That merit is indescribably high and deep
Receivers can not be yet repaying until their life end...
As a Buddhist disciple, most people know when living in this world, they must receive four great graces, including the grace of parents and Master.
Before the ceremony took place, monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Thu gave a lecture to Buddhists, helping the listeners understand the origin of Ullambana sutra, how to pay filial piety and practice according to the Buddha's teachings.
Next, the rite of pinning roses which is an important part of the ceremony. The attendees pinning roses with two lines of tears rolling down are sad and emotional when listening to its meaning. Is it in spiritual feelings, thinking about parents at this time, they partly regret mistakes they made, the things that upset their parents, or are those tears of unhappiness from ones who no longer have their parents besides? That scene made everyone at the rite feel pity and regret.
After that, Buddhists Youth Groups of Tam Phap Pagoda had a speech to offer robes to the monks.
On behalf of the monks present, Junior Thich Tam Duyet, Abbot of Tam Phap Pagoda, Binh Duong gave some advice and encouragement to all participants. The monk talked about the filial piety of Venerable Maudgalyayana so that the audience could learn that virtue. Thus, let's know how to live fully as a human being, repaying the kindness of our parents, Patriarchs and ancestors who have sacrificed for us.
Finally, there is the ritual of offering incense to the Buddha and chanting the Ullambana Sutra.
The ceremony ended in a warm atmosphere in the countryside.
