The monastic confession, Buddhist Calendar 2570 | Hoang Phap pagoda

On June 1st, 2026 (April 16th, LC) monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda came to Quang Tho pagoda (Hoc mon commune) to attend a monastic confession rite in the rainy-season retreat, held by the Director Board of VBS, Buddhist Calendar 2570 in Hoc mon commune, HCMC.

Originating from the time of Buddha, a rainy-season retreat is an important tradition of practice in the Sangha of Buddhism. This is the time when the monks will stay where they are, train their body-mind, cultivate virtue and increase cultivators’ precept-concentration-wisdom. During this time, practitioners restrain their cultivation life, build harmony in the Sangha, and bring great benefits to lay Buddhists by preaching activities and supporting the Triple Gem.

 

After the ritual at Quang Tho pagoda, Hoang Phap Pagoda’s monks returned to their pagoda to settle down at the temple.
