The Vesak Great Ceremony in 2026| Hoằng Pháp pagoda

When the Ashoka flower blooms in April of summer, every Buddhist disciple shares a common joy in welcoming the Shakyamuni Buddha's Birthday. That is why the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration of Buddhist Calendar 2570 was solemnly held at Hoang Phap Pagoda on May 31st, 2026 (April 15th, LC).
As a special event commemorating the Shakyamuni Buddha's birth, the great Vesak 2026 is also an opportunity for Buddhists to express gratitude, repayment, and to reflect on His precious teachings to address the urgent and turbulent issues of our time. It is also a time for Buddhists to understand the Buddha's life, then reflect on our own practice, and to vow to follow in His footsteps, so that His light of mindfulness, compassion, and wisdom may always shine in our hearts. Accordingly, Hoang Phap Pagoda solemnly celebrated the Great Buddha's Birthday at 6 a.m.
Attending this ceremony were the presence of Most Master Thich Chan Tinh, Junior Thich Tam Truong, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda together with the Abbot of facilities belonging to the Hoang Phap sect, pagoda’s monks and Buddhists everywhere.
First, Junior Thich Tam Hieu's chanting of the verse "...the mystical sound of the bell brings us to single-mindedness" made the tranquil atmosphere at Hoang Phap Pagoda even more solemn and serene. The monk's resonant chant left a strong impression on the attendees, possessing the power to calm the restless hearts of each listener. Stating the reason and introducing the ceremony, Junior Thich Tam Truong gave an opening speech on the Vesak 2026.
Next, Most Master Thich Chan Tinh reminded attendees about the importance of cultivating precepts, wisdom, the Noble Four Noble Truths, and the Eightfold Path, thereby encouraging practitioners during this sacred ceremony.
The Prajna bell sounded out in the sacred atmosphere, monks and Buddhists performed the rituals of celebrating the Buddha Birthday. In particular, the release of balloons wishing for peace and freedom for the world marked a highlight of the Buddha's Birthday celebration at Hoang Phap Pagoda.
