Thinking about death - the way to enjoy fun in Bhutan.
Update: 24/04/2015
People who live on the rugged Himalaya Mountains think about death every day and accept it dispassionately. Thus, they always enjoy a happy and meaningful life before death.
At idle conversation after tea and wine, the overseas man\r\nhad told Karrma his experience of some disturbing symptoms: shortness of\r\nbreath, dizziness, numbness in his hands and feet.
\r\n\r\n
He feared that he was having a heart attack and it was\r\nmaking him crazy, so he intended to go to the doctor\r\nthen.
\r\n\r\n
"No problem", Ura reassured him calmly,
\r\n\r\n
"You should think about death for five minutes every\r\nday. It will cure you". The visitor seemed dumbfounded before the man's\r\nwords and asked in scepticism: "How?"
\r\n\r\n
"You just think about the fear of death that we will\r\npass away before seeing our children grow. This is what is troubling\r\nyou". Ura said.
\r\n\r\n
The majority of citizens also think about death every day\r\nbecause this is believed to be neither a bad omen nor sadness, and fear. It\r\nhelps them stronger, more positive thinking so as to love life and the\r\nenjoyable time with people.
\r\n\r\n
"Rich people in the West, they have not touched dead\r\nbodies, fresh wounds or rotten things. This is a problem. We have to be ready\r\nfor the moment we cease to exist", Ura explained.
\r\n\r\n
In addition, the Bhutanese believe the Metempsychosis\r\nin present life and future lives, so they view death lightly. However, it does\r\nnot mean that they are not sad or nervous. "just how do we face it",\r\nUra confided.
