Triratna Refuge Ceremony in Thao Chinh Pagoda, Ha Noi city

On Jan. 13th, 2015 (Lunar November 23rd Horse Year), Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh visited to Thao Chinh pagoda, Thao Chinh area, Phu Xuyen ward, Ha Noi city in order to organize Triratna Refuge Ceremonies for Buddhists here, according to invitation of the Nun Abbes Thich Dam Hoa.

Despite the cold weather, Buddhists gathered to attend the\r\nceremonies from the early day in pagoda.

As usual, before officially transferring refuge and\r\nprecepts, the Ven. carefully taught Buddhists meaning of Triratna, repentance,\r\nand five precepts etc. Besides, he reminded people had to hold a right opinion\r\nof refugee taking since the majority of Northern people in Vietnam mistakenly\r\nbelieved that only the elderly were allowed to take refugee as well as their\r\nother wrong ideas. This created a pessimistic view and disadvantageous position\r\nfor Buddhism, although Buddhism was the major religion of Vietnamese. As a\r\nresult, being a Buddhist, we must eliminate those opinions to prove that\r\nBuddhism benefited enormously our life.

With few simple words, he helped Buddhists with accurate\r\nunderstanding of taking refuge. After that, by the spirit if asking for the\r\ndharma, believers solemnly and respectfully held their hands to receive\r\ntranquil precepts.

Eventually, he taught Buddhists responsibilities as well as\r\ninstructed necessary majesty. On this occasion, he gave people a DVD of\r\n“Sunrise in fog land”. 

The ceremony ended in the joy and peace of all.
