VESAK-2014 at Quoc Thoi Pagoda- Ben Tre

The full-moon day of this April Buddha Calendar 2558- Solar Calendar 2014, almost Buddhists all over the country joyfully memorize an important event in humanity history again - the day when the Buddha manifested.

In that spirit, on May 11st, 2014 (April 13 rd, Horse\r\nYear), with the permission of the Senior Ven.Thich Chan Tinh, and responding to\r\nthe invitation of Ven. Thich Tam Hung, the Monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda came to\r\nQuoc Thoi Pagoda, An Hoa hamlet, Long Thanh commune, Cho Lach district, Ben Tre\r\nprovince supported and attended Vesak organized here. Many Buddhists visited to\r\nattend.

Opening for the ceremony, Senior Venerable Thich Tam\r\nHung- the Abbot of Quoc Thoi Pagoda- the head of organizing committee read the\r\nopening speech. The lecture showed the importance as well as the lofty meaning\r\nof Vesak in each person’s cultivating life. After that, the teenagers from\r\nBuddhists’s families of Quoc Thoi Pagoda offered flowers sincerely respect to\r\ncongratulate Vesak.

Continuing the ceremony, Senior Venerable Thich Giac\r\nTri- the head of Board of Directors and Senior Venerable Thich Giac Tang- the\r\nvice head of Board of Directors Cho Lach District read the message of the Head\r\nBuddhist Sangha of Vietnam and Council of Directors Centre Buddhist Sangha of\r\nVietnam’s Vesak speech. These two messages affirmed again the role and the\r\nwonderful meaning of Vesak with humanity. Besides, the message also asserted\r\nthat Buddhism has always accompanied with nation throughout the length of\r\nhistory from ancient times until now.

The ceremony became more meaningful when all listened to the\r\nvaluable teachings of Senior Venerable Thich Giac Huong – the demonstrator of\r\nBoard of Directors Cho Lach District. At the end, the Monks, visitors and Buddhists\r\noffered incense to congratulate Vesak and set pigeons, balloons free to pray\r\nfor peace and comfort for all the world.

The ceremony had the performances of singers, artist\r\nChau Liem, little singer Mai Trang and singers from Ho Chi Minh city. The cermony\r\nended in the joy of all.
