Visiting and Prostrating to Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu

On Aug. 24th ,2015 (Lunar Year July 11th , Goat year), Sen. Ven. Thich Chan Tinh and Monks of Hoang Phap pagoda came patriarchs’ hall of Thuong Chieu Zen monastery to prostrate and congratulate Most Venerable Thick Thanh Tu’s birthday, who established a monastery and Most Venerable Nhat Quang.
In history, in monasteries, oldest monks are good examples, youger practioners consider them great sun, and prostrate, pray for eliminating the negative karma, developing good karma so that they follow their three karmas in purity. They prostrate and lean eminent monks, pray for entering the gate of Triratna, stooping evils, doing good things, improving oneself for the purpose of benefiting others. Truly, where there are elder monks in which Buddhism was elation, the example of his practice encourage the next generation who always follow to make progress on the path of practice and propagate the dharma.
Most Superior Venerable Thick Thanh Tu is the highest monk of modern Buddhist VietNam. He is a great preacher, a famous translator and author in Buddhist study. In particular, he made great contribution to in the revival Zen of Truc Lam Yen Tu, typical meditation sect of Vietnam (so he is named Most Venerable Truc Lam). He also established Thuong Chieu Monastery with many domestic monastery system and abroad. For his merit and virtue, meditaion sects are being developed strongly today and Thuong Chieu Monastery became patriarchs’ hall of meditation, under the guidance of his great disciple named Most Venerable Nhat Quang.
Before prostrating Most Venerable Truc Lam, the Senior Venerable and the group were guided to visit outside and inside the monastery. Then, under the guidance of Venerables and the Senior’s Bonze’s attendant, they went to the abbot’s room and prostrated the Most Venerable Truc Lam.
On behalf of the monks, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh congratulated on the Most Venerable, occasion of his birthday, increasing a summer retreat age and wised Him peaceful body and mind, eternally abiding and saving the Saha, being a spiritual example for posterities.
Afterwards, the group returned to patriarchs’ hall to prostrate Patriarch and congratulate on the occasion of a birthday Most Venerable abbot Nhat Quang. After the response from the chief delegation’s words, the Most Venerable abbot had a few words with the mass of the practice in the life of every monk. Relying to the story in his life, he showed the importance of his culturvation and study, especially the practice. Because it is the practice that we go to enlightenment and protect sentient beings. His teachings were simple but extremely poignant, since it gives each practitioner valuable lessons and experiences of useful practice that contribute to the success on the spiritual path. Finally, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, on behalf mass, showed thanks to the Most Venerable Abbot, and wished him peaceful body and mind, perfect propagation to mentor the next generation on the path towards enlightened results.
On this occasion, the Senior Venerable donated to the Most Venerable Truc Lam and Abbot the books "Comparative Religious Studies" and "Word of Flowers".
