Visiting Pagodas Thien An and Xa Loi in Becker, Minnesota, US

Today, Thursday Sep 28, 2017, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh and his delegation keep on visiting Vietnamese pagodas in Becker, Minesota.

At the first stop, everyone got the warm welcome from Venerable Thich Pho Thuan, abbot of Thien An pagoda. Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh has asked after the ashram regarding health, activities and practicing. This has been the second pagoda in Minnesota (after Phat An Temple). Regardless his elderliness without any clergy attendant, the abbot still tries his best to serve Dharma and Buddhists in the area. At the end of the meeting, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh offers Dharma gifts to the abbot.

The second visiting place of the delegation is Xa Loi pagoda whose abbess is Bhikkhuni Thich Nu Quang Nguyen. After offering Dharma gift to the abbess, the Senior Venerable inquires after the activities and practice of the ashram. According to the head of the pagoda, this building used to be a church before being converted into a pagoda. At the moment, she is leading Buddhists here in practicing. She is also step by step changing and renewing some basic structures of the building to match with the architecture of pagoda.
