Visiting Temples In The Middle Korea

In the morning, Venerable Thich Chan Tinh and his disciples had visited Chamchoun Uri temple, Jeonju city and were informally welcomed by the people there.
Chamchoun Uri temple follows the Jogye Order, the place for the Vietnamese in the Jeonju city and other nearest places taking practice. The temple organized many social welfares for helping the Vietnamese here.
After having lunch, the abbot guided the Hoang Phap delegation to visit Jeonju city’s main office, the Geumsansa temple, and the Gwinsina temple.
Placing near the entering of Moaksan park, Geumsana belongs to the Jogye Order, was found since the first years of the Beop king belonged to Baekje kingdom (AD 599). The temple contains many buildings including the Chanting Hall, the Arhant Hall, and some other ancillary buildings. Especially here locates one of National Treasures, the Maitreya Hall. It is the three-story building with the specific architecture in Korea. Thousands of years formed ago but had been damaged by the war and historical period. However, the Buddhist here with the full desire of restoring the building which contains many specific cultural values of Buddhism was restored 400 years ago. There is a Maitreya Buddha statue inside. This is the biggest Maitreya Buddha statue in Korea with 11.82m in height. There are two Boddhisatva statues both sides the main statue, with 8.8m in height for each. This considers the specific architectural building with the high spiritual value of Korean Buddhism.
