Wedding Ceremony at the Pagoda
Update: 01/11/2026
As the crisp, cool air of late autumn transitions into the early days of November—marking the onset of winter—it offers a serene moment to pause and reflect on the journey of the past year. It is also a significant milestone for couples to celebrate the sacred union they have nurtured over time.
On Sunday, November 1, 2026, Hoang Phap Pagoda held a Buddhist wedding ceremony for four couples amidst the joyful presence of their families. The four couples were Đồng Nhựt Minh (Dharma name Tịnh Minh) – Nguyễn Thị Trúc An (DN Liên An); Nguyễn Văn Tâm (DN Tịnh Tâm) – Nguyễn Thuỳ Trang An (DN Diệu Trang); Nguyễn Viết Quân (DN Nguyễn Tâm) – Nguyễn Thị Hồng Nhi (DN Liên Hồng); and Lê Thanh Phụng (DN Trí Phụng) – Nguyễn Thị Hoài Thương (DN Thanh Vũ).
Under the solemn witness of the Three Jewels in the main hall at 9:00 a.m., the monks conducted the wedding ceremony for the four couples on their momentous day. First, the brides and grooms respectfully bowed to the Three Jewels and their parents to express their gratitude and filial piety as Buddhist followers. Next, the couples vowed to take refuge in the Three Jewels and uphold the Five Ethical Precepts: abstaining from killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying, and consuming intoxicants. They committed to practicing these principles as a strong foundation for long-lasting family happiness.
In his Dharma talk, Junior Abbot Thich Tam Truong preached on the Six Harmonies taught by the Buddha, which encompass harmony in body, speech, mind, precepts, views, and shared benefits. Through harmony in thoughts, words, and actions, a married couple can attain true understanding and happiness. Guided by these teachings, the ceremony concluded in warmth and joy shared by all families.
