2561th Vesak Ceremony for Overseas Vietnamese at Yaksasa Pagoda - South Korea

On May 7, 2017 (April 12, lunar calendar), the 2561th Vesak ceremony for overseas Vietnamese was officially held at the amphitheatre of Yaksasa pagoda in Incheon, South Korea.
Deputy Abbot Tehyu of Yaksasa pagoda, Deputy Abbot Thich Tam Dao of Hoang Phap Pagoda (from Vietnam), and his delegation witnessed and celebrated Vesak ceremony for Vietnamese national living, working and studying in Incheon, South Korea.
In the afternoon of May 06, 2017, Venerable Thich Tam Dao celebrated Vesak for Vietnamese community with a Dharma talk on the theme "The Life of Buddha". Then the program continued with the music performance right at the yard of Yaksasa pagoda.
This is the second time that Hoang Phap Pagoda has the opportunity holding Vesak for Vietnamese in Incheon, South Korea. The ceremony was carried out in the solemn and devout atmosphere of the ashram.
After the introduction and reason declaration session, Vietnamese Buddhists at Yaksasa ashram carried out flower offering rite. Then Venerable Thich Tam Dong and monks shared the meaning of Vesak ceremony and the great spiritual values of this event to practitioners’ practice.
After the speech of congratulation from Senior Venerable Tehyu, deputy abbot of Yaksasa pagoda, Reverend Thich Tam Hy, on behalf of Vietnamese monks and Buddhists, expressed the deep gratitude to the abbot and the monks of Yaksasa pagoda for their kindness facilitating a spiritual refuge place for Vietnamese nationals’ cultivation, as well as the kind support for Vietnam delegation during its trip of Buddhism activities in South Korea.
On this occasion, Buddhist Luu Thi My Ha (Religious name: Tue Tam), on behalf of Buddhists, expressed the feelings of the ashram and its gratitude to all the kind supports from concerned parties.
Venerable Thich Tam Dao, deputy abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, on behalf of the delegation, encouraged and motivated Vietnamese Buddhists’ practice on their path to the Enlightenment. From the meaning of Vesak, the spirit of quartet-key graces, and the diligent mindset in learning/practicing Dharma, he pointed out the fundamentals of cultivation that we must not forget because they can help our practicing be meaningful with best results.
The ceremony ended with Vesak chanting and Buddha bathing rites.
In the afternoon, Hoang Phap monks guided the ashram how to recite Buddha's name and how to sit (meditation) properly. After that, it was the music show with the contributions from clergy men as Reverend Thich Tam Tuong, Reverend Thich Tam Quoc, and singers Khanh Binh, Khanh Loan and Ngoc Han. The mass took photographs with Hoang Phap delegation before the ceremony closed in the joys of all.
