Buddhism Wedding Ceremony

After offering incense to Buddha, then come the appealing from the couple’s families for the witness of clergy men and handing wedding rings... Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, on behalf of the Sangha, gave advice and guidance on Buddhism marital etiquette to young couple. It is called sweet home when each member loves, respects, listens to and lives in harmony with others in the family. Besides, everyone should be tolerant towards the faults of others. All have been mentioned in Sigalovada Sutra, Kà ya Sà maggi (six good terms for harmony) taught by Buddha.
Additionally, the Senior Venerable also reminded spouses to be ready for parenthood, abide by the five precepts for Buddhist. To breed children effectively, parent should be virtuous model for kids to follow. When children grow up, parent should take care of and educate them properly. To do so, each member in the family should learn Dharma, live for noble purpose, believe in cause and effect rule. It will be great if everyone in the family takes refuge in Triratna and follows five precepts, moral fundamentals for Buddhists and human beings. These will lead people to bliss and happiness within this life and in the after-lives.
