Buddhism Wedding Ceremony at Hoang Phap Pagoda

With the witness of Triratna and families, couples performed traditional wedding rituals as paying homage to Triratna, kowtowing parents for their merits to children, handing wedding rings and vowing to live happy marital life in the light of Buddha’s teaching.

On behalf of witnessing monks, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh praised the firm belief of families in Triratna carrying out Buddhism wedding ceremony for sons and daughters in pagoda. He also sent advices for a happy marriage to couples.

In Buddhism, the spirit of Kàya sàmaggi (six good terms for harmony) taught by Buddha offers us principles for peace and harmony in community/family. They are:

* Peaceful behavior

* Peaceful words to avoid conflict

* Common sense

* Practice together

* Solving problem together

* Sharing benefit together

In any community/team, the application of Kàya sàmaggi gives us sustained peace/growth.

Family applying Kàya sàmaggi will have happiness. In the light of six good terms for harmony, spouses respect, care and listen to each other, children are kind and fulfill their filial duties in the family. Following Kàya sàmaggi and five precepts for Buddhists, members in family become the good ones. Family is the cell of the society. If the cell is good and sound then the whole unit/society will develop and be prosperous.

After that, the Senior Venerable presented Buddhism marriage certificates and wedding gifts to just-married couples.
