Candle Lighting Ceremony to commemorate the ordination of Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara at Giai Lam pagoda, Ha Tinh

On the ordination anniversary of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, Giai Lam Pagoda had a rite to prostrate Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara 's names for Buddhists everywhere to attend in the evening of Nov. 02nd, 2023 (Sep. 19th, LC).

From the night of Sep. 15th-18th (LC) before the rite, the pagoda held the repentant ritual of Her five-hundred names. On the evening of Sep. 19th, LC, the rite officially took place in a solemn and respectful atmosphere with hundreds of guests and devout Buddhist attended; then, the mass respectfully bowed to the name of Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara before the Three Jewels.

Next, that's the candle light transmission. When the mind's candle is lit, the darkness of ignorance will recede, the door of suffering will gradually close, dispel the dark night of ignorance, erase the boundaries of rich-poor, happy-sad, relieve sadness of human life; the love to be expanded. Those candles of the mind continue to shine brightly in each participant's heart, because the light has taught us to reflect on, love and share, opening the door of altruism and kindness. This is also the way we show our small gratitude to Her.

The mass offered the candle in their hands, chanted together the name and 12 great vows of Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara. At the ritual end, Junior Thich Tam Luc had a dharma session. His simple words are a message of love, understanding, listening ... from Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara's vow. From then, all attendees will know how to cherish life and love all beings.
