Candle Lighting Ritual to commemorate Amitabha’s Buddha at Dong Cao Pagoda – Thanh Hoa

On Dec. 11th, 2022 (Nov. 18th, LC), Dong Cao pagoda in Thanh Hoa province (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda s’ custom) solemnly organized the Candle Lighting Ritual to commemorate the Amitabha Buddha.
After three times of Prajnà bells grumbling at 19:00 p.m, the Sangha step by step towards the platform. Under the present of Junior Thich Nguyen Hiep, Standing Member of the Director Board (DB) of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Thanh Hoa province, Head of DB of VBS in Nga Son district, Abbot of Kim Lien pagoda inThanh Hoa; Junior Thich Tam Tuy, monks at Long Son pagoda in Binh Dinh province; Junior Thich Nhan Toan, Abbot of Thien Huong Pagoda in Ha Trung, Thanh Hoa; Junior Thich Tam Hung, Abbot of Dong Cao pagoda, Thanh Hoa province, Head the organizers and nearly 1,000 Buddhists everywhere returned to the temple to attend.
First, Buddhist Lien Giang introduced the ceremony's reason. On behalf of the Organizers, Buddhist Lien Thanh delivered the opening speech in the reverent and quiet atmosphere. Next, the mass towards the platform to chant the Buddha praises, recite calm-down verses led by Junior Thich Tam Tuy. The most important moment is the candle light-transferring. Junior Thich Nguyen Hiep lit candles from the Buddha's altar, and then spread the light Junior Thich Tam Hung, and Buddhists to continue and spread the teachings of the Buddha in the world. The Abbot guided the reading of the poems: praising the Buddha, reciting the Buddha's name to imitate the Buddha's example of Most Master of Head of Hoang Phap pagoda; Junior Thich Tam Tuy and the mass chanted the Buddha's name, read 12 prayers reciting Amitabha Buddha, and offered their prayers. On behalf of the Venerables, Monks and Nuns, Junior Thich Nguyen Hiep praised the Buddhists who have their mind to protect and make offerings to the candle lighting Night. He also reminded the practitioners to equip themselves with a solid foundation of "Faith, Action and Vow", together to build this world into a pure land so that everyone can be happy and meet the Buddhadharma. Closing the ceremony is a sacred moment to offer to the Buddha with hundreds of candles illuminating the whole space. At the end of the ceremony, on behalf of the Buddhists at the temple, Buddhist Lien Thanh offered gifts and almsgiving to present monks.
