Ceremony of Buddha’s Birth at Phap Hanh Pure Monastery, Cu Chi District.

In the evening of June 1st, 2015 (April 15th, Goat Year), following invitation of The Abbot Jun. Ven. Thich Tri Giac Thong about the Ceremony of Buddha’s birth, Sen. Ven. Thich Chan Tinh arrived to attend the monastery Phap Hanh at Ben Do hamlet,Tan Phu Trung village , Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh city.

At the beginning, The Abbot of monastery had an opening speech including one idea: “This year, the event is the 2639 year anniversary of the date Buddha was born in the world. We need to consider ourselves in retrospect and think about everything we did and will complete as the gratitude deserving of his great sacrifice.”  Afterwards, two meaningful songs “Co Phat Trong Doi – Buddha appeared in life”, “Mung Ngay Dan Sanh – Welcome the Buddha’ birth”  were performed outstandingly by Vu Bao and Thu Trang singers.

 

The follow-up speech of the Ven. Thich Chan Tinh is a compassionate religious reminder of Buddhists about the great meaning of this ceremony, rebirth of affectionate father in the worldly world so as to encourage everyone to study and practice on his instructions.


To represent one of the most remarkable periods in Buddha’s life, two devout Buddhists , artist Ha My Xuan- from France and Doctor of Philosophy Le Hong Phuoc- the vice Dean of French literature department of  University of Social Sciences and Humanities, performed one reformative part named “Thich Ca Tam Dao”


Following the event is the main birthday ceremony and the showering Buddha . In the end, many singers from Ho Chi Minh City performed plenty of joyful repertoires. The ceremony wholly completed with entire meaning and full of good reverberations, reminders for Buddhists about this great ceremony, a a key point in the history of human being. When Buddha rebirths, he enlightens every creatures to escape from the ignorance. Besides, this is a previous occasion for us to consider in retrospect and encourage ourselves. We should remind ourselves to keep the diligence, try to get  more pure mind and body so that every day is a birthday of one Buddha in every person.

 

In the end of the ceremony, a VCD “Dung me cua la” was given to all people as a gift.
