Children in the 2nd Summer Course Had “Thanks Ceremony”

In the evening of June 27th, 2019 (May 24th, LC), the monks organized a Thanks Ceremony for the children joined the 2nd summer course.
At 7:30 pm, the monks were at the lecture hall. Having performed some rites, Ven. Thich Tam Tuong had a speech on the meaning of doing the Thanks Perform Ceremony to parents and the monks, those who nourish and give education to children. After that, some short clips about mother were shown to the children.
The most emotional part is making milk offering to parents and the monks, done by the children. They did some small activities as face-cleaning; hands and feet massaging to parents to feel the difficulties that parents had spent to bring up their life. Simple deeds but full of meaning.
Before ending, Ven. Thich Tam Trong had some words to all people. The ceremony was for the kids but also the chance for us to looking back and think of the great kindness of parents, the monks, teachers, and the nation which support our existence. This is why doing filial duty always focused on before officially taking Buddhist practice.
By the ceremony, there are some messages to all people both clergy and lays about fulfilling the filial duty to parents. Being a family causes conditions from the past, so we have to respect and keep in mind this good condition.
Some singers part to the ceremony as Duc Vinh, Nghi Dinh, Thien Ng, and some dance and model groups.
