Dhamma talk "Doi Kho Dao Vui" - 87th Seven-Day Retreat
Update: 29/12/2017
This morning Dec 29, 2017 (Nov 12, lunar calendar), based on the invitation of the retreat organizer, Senior Venerable Thich Buu Chanh, Standing Member of the Governing Council, Deputy Head of the Central Committee of Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, Abbot of Phuoc Son monastery, Dong Nai province, has delivered a Dharma talk to practitioners of 87th Seven-Day Retreat on the subject "Doi Kho Dao Vui".
It is a myth saying that Buddhism is pessimistic, weary and unjoyful. This is a misconception from those who have not accessed to Buddha teachings yet. In fact, Buddhism is full of vitality and joy, ranging from low to high level depending on practitioner’s awakening.
Regardless the rich or poor, the high or low status, everyone has his/her own suffering in life from family issue, life problem… in which blindness in truth, in Buddha Dhamma is the greatest misfortune. Such people cannot find the right way to reach ease and happiness within while people on the right Path go with true-good-noble mind reaching joy and liberation. Practitioners know how to let things go, transform suffering/obstacles to bliss and feel happy in all circumstances. Buddhist is the one having right view, right resolve, right speech, right conduct, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right "samadhi" (meditative absorption). The true Buddhist always feel happy with good deeds.
"Life without practicing leads to thousands of unhappiness
Life without Path to liberty leads to infinite sorrows "
After more than an hour of sharing, the Senior Venerable has motivated the mass in practicing and believing on the Path to bliss and liberation.
