On the 5th day in the 101st Retreat of Dec. 27th, 2023 Senior Thich Tri Minh, Lecturer at HCMC VietNam Buddhist University, and College-Intermediate Buddhist Schools inside and outside the City, Abbot of Hung Thanh pagoda, Dong Nai, preached a Dharma talk named Contemplating of the Buddha statue to recite His name in Wheel Dharma Building's Main Hall.

The Senior shared his own experience, when knowing how to combine reciting the Buddha's name and the observing of the Buddha statue, it will be easy to achieve a unanimous mind. When the practitioner's mouth recites and its mind remembers the Buddha together, there is a light joy which will arise happiness ... that is, achieving one undisturbed mind (equivalent to the state of first meditation).

In the Dharma talk, he shared:

+ Explaining four ways of reciting Buddha's name called four kinds of reciting in Pure Land sect: Name Recitation, Visualization, Statue Contemplation and True Form.

+ Deep analysis of the Buddha statue's contemplation from the preparation stage, initial effort, after practice....

+ Applying anatomical and physiological knowledge in Medicine, he thoroughly demonstrated the very practical method of Buddha statue contemplation based on a clear and specific scientific basis. Thanks to that, the mass became more confident, diligent and had further steps on the path to return to the pure realm.

Last, he and the attendees practiced the method of Buddha statue contemplation.
