On Dec. 23rd, 2020, before opening officially the 95th Seven-Day Retreat, the audience listened to a sermon coming from Junior Ven. Tam Thuc with the topic How to live happily.
Humanity always develops science - technology with the aim of creating a comfortable and good quality of life. But that security is the seed of suffering, because all unexpected things can happen. Learners of Buddhism need to know how to build a right life before the change around of situations, people and society. Junior Ven mentioned three main issues, such as the sharing of happiness, compassion and independent lifestyle.
In order to achieve a peaceful life, we should help and share happiness with others by almsgiving. Next, each person needs to cultivate and nurture a love with wisdom, if there is no intelligence, then that love is binding, suffering with the person they help. Last, it is an independent way of life with changing circumstances, accepting them so that it will not cause trouble for us. Finally, the monk talked about applying the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path to create a happy life.
The same day afternoon is the session of reciting Buddha's name and walking meditation. Recorded images:
