Dharma Talk “Listenning” – The 95th Seven-Day Retreat.
Update: 25/12/2020
On Dec. 25th, 2020, Junior Ven. Thich Dat Ma Huy Bao from Buu Nghiem Monastery in Binh Duong province, came the lecture hall to share a Dharma with the topic “Listenning” in the 95th Seven-Day Retreat to practitioners.
In social interaction, depending on psychological tendencies, there are different physical and mental needs. Most of us want to assert ourselves by actions and words, so we often lash each other with the "weapon" of the tongue. From the image of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara about the virtue of listening, Junior Ven. presented to the mass a method of practice, raising benediction from listening to others and listening to ourselves.
Listening to others is to understand who they are, so that we can sympathize, love and behave properly. Especially, we often confide in, share the things we understand or know with others, but have we come back inside to listen to our own words?Listening to ourselves means we are maintaining mindfulness, controlling our body and mind, avoiding vulgar things with others. The concepts that we should listen to every word, every step, every slightest gesture, then maintain mindfulness everywhere at all times .... that we are walking on the ethical path towards full happiness.
Over an hour passing, Junior Ven. wanted to convey to the participants about the wonderful merit of listening. We should practice listening to our own words right now, clearly identifying our body and mind, don't wait for suffering to appear, we feel regret for our unmindfulness.
